Kali Blade Seminar
Discover the Art of Blade: iKali Seminar with Master Ocampo
Beginner-Friendly | Ages 13+ (Black Belts under 13 welcome) | No Experience Needed
Curious about Filipino martial arts but not sure what to expect? This special seminar is the perfect introduction.
What is Kali?
Kali is a traditional Filipino martial art that focuses on practical self-defense using movements inspired by sticks, everyday objects, and blades. It teaches coordination, awareness, and confidence through flowing, easy-to-learn patterns. Unlike some martial arts, Kali starts with weapons to help students develop better timing, reflexes, and precision—skills that also carry over into empty-hand self-defense.
What You’ll Learn at This Seminar:
Led by Master Ocampo, a Lakan Guro under Tuhon Apolo Ladra, this workshop will gently introduce students to the foundations of the iKali System, including:
Basic blade mechanics: How to move safely and efficiently
Disarms and counters: Simple, practical techniques anyone can try
Stick-to-blade connection: How common Kali stick movements are actually inspired by blade motion
Awareness and control: Skills that build confidence and focus
This seminar is designed to be accessible, safe, and beginner-friendly, making it great for families, teens, martial artists from other styles, or anyone interested in trying something new.
